Simplicity

Sometimes it's so easy to get lost in the thick of everything until you take some time out to get away, reflect, and just enjoy the simple things and cheesy things, like sitting by the water, or really taking in the sunset. Just over an hour up the coast from Sydney, we managed to rent out a beautiful waterfront property for the weekend. With how crazy everything has been lately, this has probably been the most relaxing weekend spent in ages, even with a couple of kids in tow! It must be something in the water that just drains all the stress out of you...

Obviously when you're planning on just enjoying the simpler side of life, it has to be done in the simplest of clothes. The most comfortable black jersey maxi dress (split optional), no shoes, no fuss hair (hairbrush also optional), et voila. Life really doesn't have to be so hard after all!

So it's been a while....I've been working on a couple of things, and being that crazy/busy time at work, I've neglected my blog (sorry blog).

BUT..... in the meantime, I've been putting together a couple of cool ideas that I'm going to try. I'll definitely keep you posted. I'm already predicting a fair amount of blood, sweat and tears but I'm sure it'll all be worth it in the end. If you hadn't figured it out yet, the Charlotte Olympia clutches above are serving as my inspiration! These have been popping up in every magazine and editorial, on and offline, and it's been tough trying to exercise self control and willpower over my poor credit card. So instead, we'll see how the final results turn out! Stay tuned...

Shopbop has a sale!!! And I just scored this brilliantly bright fire engine red Botkier bag!! Red usually scares the living daylights out of me. Don't laugh, I'm aware that it's probably the stupidest fear out - fear of a colour! So I've bitten the proverbial bullet and bought a red bag. Baby steps...

Training up

I don't know how you feel about trainers, but they've always been in the "do not buy" pile, up until recently... It's funny how your personal style evolves and changes so quickly. Up until recently, I'd also never been a 'pants' person. Not like being a member of the "pants optional" party, but have just always been a dresses and skirts girl!

As much as this goes against the standard trainer-wearing crowd attire, I can't bring myself to wear trainers and pants. I actually prefer the whole trainers and dresses/skirts look. What do you think? Is it ok to wear trainers and dresses, or are trainers and dresses in the one outfit a little sacrilegious?
